Stick with the Best—Dewaxed for Perfection!
Shellac Exports is a leading merchant exporter of shellac and its derivative products from India. Our Dewaxed Shellac is produced using a specialized solvent process to remove wax and insoluble impurities, yielding a purer, more versatile product. This dewaxing process allows us to manufacture shellac with wax contents as low as 0.2%, making it ideal for applications that demand clarity, enhanced adhesion, and consistent performance.
Manufacturing Process
- The raw lac is first dissolved in a suitable solvent—usually industrial-grade alcohol—to separate the insoluble impurities.
- The resulting solution is filtered through a fine cloth to remove suspended particles.
- The industrial alcohol is then recovered by boiling the solution, leaving behind a purified shellac concentrate.
- Finally, the dewaxed shellac is stretched to the required thickness on a roller, resulting in a product that meets strict quality standards.
- This solvent process also enables the manufacture of various Dewaxed Shellac grades that differ in color, acid number, and other critical properties.
Grades of Dewaxed Shellac
We offer five distinct grades of Dewaxed Shellac, each tailored for specific applications. All our grades maintain very low wax content (max. 0.2%), along with controlled impurity levels, to ensure optimal performance in demanding applications such as coatings, finishes, and pharmaceutical glazes.
