Natural byproduct of shellac processing, used in polishes, cosmetics, and food-grade coatings for its glossy finish and water-resistant properties.
Shellac Exports is a premier merchant exporter of shellac and its derivative products from India. We offer high-quality Shellac Wax, a valuable by-product obtained during the manufacturing of solvent shellac. This natural wax—characterized by its hard, brown appearance and excellent shine-producing properties—is comparable to Carnauba Wax and is widely used in polishing and as a substitute for Candelilla Wax.
What Is Shellac Wax?
- In crude shellac, only 4-6% of wax is present. During the solvent process manufacturing of shellac, this wax is recovered as a waste product and then refined for commercial use.
- Shellac Wax primarily consists of a mixture of esters (approximately 60%) and free alcohol (around 35%). It also contains small amounts of hydrocarbons, penta- and hentriacontanes, and roughly 1% laccic acid.
